Genevieve Wilson is a PhD candidate with the school of Media and Communications at RMIT University. Their working title is ‘We’re Here, We’re Queer: A collaborative web docu-series on queer representation, mobile media creativity and ‘telling our own stories’. This is a project that examines queer and gender diverse young people’s creative practice in social media, and its political agency.
Genevieve has a Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Media, Film and Television from the University of Auckland and a background in film and documentary production across Australia and New Zealand. They are committed to queer and trans advocacy, in particular for gender diverse young people, and have a strong interest in co-creating around narratives of self-representation and visibility.
