DERC RAW [Researchers At Work] is a series of monthly informal research workshops designed for our HDRs but open to the wider DERC community (so feel free to share with your networks).

In the final RAW session for the year we will discuss academic job seeking experiences, challenges, and strategies.
What makes for a compelling CV? How do selection committees work? What’s the difference between ‘teaching and research’, ‘teaching-focused’, ‘research-only’, etc? What kinds of experience do selection committees value? Our guest speakers are A/Prof Scott Brook (Associate Dean, Communication) and Dr Ella Chorazy (Lecturer in Professional Communication) who will discuss graduate career trajectories and their own experiences of navigating the job market.
Where: DERC Research Room 6.4.4 (RMIT City Campus)
When: 3.30-5pm
All welcome – no RSVP needed.  Drinks and snacks provided.
