Alexia Maddox

Dr Alexia Maddox is a Research Fellow at the Blockchain Innovation Hub at RMIT. She is collaborating on the Digital CBD project and exploring how Melbourne residents engage with the city and imagine its future. More broadly, her research investigates digital frontiers and how communities build and use emerging technologies to experiment in alternative futures. Alexia has published on topics as wide ranging as the communities using cryptographic and Web3 technologies to who uses “digital drugs”. Given the challenges of studying digital communities and human-technology encounters, she is interested in, and publishes on, the wide range of research methods that can be used to investigate such socio-technical configurations.
