Sahel Farshbaf Shaker

Sahel Farshbaf is currently a PhD candidate in the School of Media and Communications at RMIT University. Her thesis focuses on the lived experiences of Latin American international students in Melbourne, she seeks to understand the ways in which experience of mobility affects the aspirations of Latin American international PhD students.
Sahel has teaching and research experiences in the field of Communication for Social Change at The University of Queensland. Sahel’s research interests include transnational mobility, international students’ everyday life, transnational families, transnational digital media, and diaspora studies.
Sahel has published academic papers in the area of transnational families and ICTs in Australia. Sahel holds a Master of Communication for Social Change (University of Queensland, Brisbane) and a Master of Media Studies (Tehran University, Iran).
