The Visual Impact: digital Lab (Vid:Lab) develops new methods and approaches for understanding human experience and perception through a unique combination of scientific, ethnographic and arts-based techniques. We specialise in innovative visual and digital methodologies to support projects and partnerships across DERC’s research labs, drawing together world-leading expertise in digital imaging and visualisation, eye-tracking, visual diaries, video ethnography, digital photography and creative visual arts. In addition to our Melbourne-based team, we enjoy strong links to an international network of experts in digital visual methodologies in science, social science, creative practice and the humanities.

In 2016 ViD:Lab hosted the Refiguring Techniques in Digital-Visual Research Symposium in partnership with Deakin and VCA.
