    Professor Sandy Gifford is a medical anthropologist whose research has focuses on the intersection between culture, socio-political contexts and health and wellbeing. She has conducted research on participatory approaches to HIV prevention in India, refugee wellbeing and settlement in Australia, experiences of asylum seekers in Indonesia and lay experiences of the use of digital technologies in Sarawak, Malaysia. She has expertise in ethnographic longitudinal studies using a mix of methods ranging from standardized surveys and in-depth interviewing to digital media, film and participatory art based methods.
